How long does AQUA STAND UP® session last ?

There are 2 formats :

30 minute with 7 workout sequences

I’m afraid to fall in the water

Don’t be afraid ! If you fall in the water, it’s only water and there’s no shark ! Your AQUA STAND UP® Instructor will be there to guide step by step during your first session. He will introduce all the basics positions and explain you how to stand up on the Board at you rhythme. We advise you to come almost 15 minute before the beginning of the session in order to have a smooth introduction.

I’m afraid to fall against the edge of the deck

No way ! The AQUA STAND UP®BOARDS are set up depending on safety distances to avoid any problem. In addition, the AQUA STAND UP®BOARDS are maintained in the swimming pool by straps.

I never practiced stand up paddle board before. Is it a problem ?

No ! Most of the time, the participants are beginners ! They never practiced stand up paddle board or surf before their first session. Better than that, you will learn the basics in order to be comfortable if you want to have fun on a stand up paddle board on open water.

How to stand up on the Board ?

Very easy to stand up ! Just listen carefully the cues given by your AQUA STAND UP® Instructor ! Step by step :
1 - Start in your stomach, belly button to the strap
2 - Place your hands on the black mat (non slippery)
3 - Press on your hands as if you want to do a push up (on your knees or your toes)
4 - Keep the pressure on your both hands all the time to stabilize your Board
5 - Right foot forward in line with the strap and keep the pressure on both hands all the time !
6 - Left foot forward
7 - Lower your hips and open your chest
8 - Press on your feet !
You're good to GO !

If I don’t succeed to stand up ?

There are a lot of modifications and remind you that your AQUA STAND UP® Instructor will be there to guide you and help you to find the right modification depending on your skill. And you know what ? The workout is not only done in the stand up position (lie down, on the knees, on your back…).

I don’t know how to swim

The Boards are placed on shallow water so no worries ! You will succeed to do it and you will be more confident with the water. If you’re in LA, you can also take some sessions in the Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy and fight your fear ! More information at www.lennykswim.com

What do I need for my session ?

You need a swimsuit. A rash guard could be great to protect your chest and your belly : check our SHOP to purchase yours ! You need also a towel to keep your body warm after your session and a bottled water for your hydration !

Things to do after my session

You need to drink water during your day to ease your recovery. After your session, take an iced shower (legs) to drain your blood and avoid any uncomfortable feeling.

I want to lose weight

AQUA STAND UP® involves a major expenditure of energy (up to 650 calories during a 45 minute course) and the cardio-muscular effort will help your body to burn fat (subject to regular practice and an appropriate diet). You might consider any or both of these workouts:

I want to reduce the size of my thighs & waist

Rotating AQUA STAND UP® exercises in the standing position (Squats, Rowing Movements) will act directly on your thighs and waist more effectively thanks to the instability of the board. You might consider any or both of these workouts:
